At around 3.00am on August 8th 1963, a gang of armed criminals boarded a Royal Mail train en route to Euston station in London. Dangerous and organised, they escaped with a staggering £2.6 million (£50 million in today’s money). The infamous heist wil be forever known as ‘The Great Train Robbery’ and will be remain in the folklore of crime history. Here we have a rare Royal Mail first cover that has been signed ny SIX of the Great Train Robbers over 40 years agon on September 26th 1979
